DSCT
Turbo Pumped Carbon Coater and Thermal Evaporato
The DSCT is a turbo-pumped sputter and carbon coater with interchangeable heads, ideal for SEM sample preparation. It sputters noble and oxidizing metals and applies carbon coatings to non-conductive surfaces.

DSCT Turbo-Pumped High-Vacuum Sputter and Carbon Coating System
The DSCT is a high-vacuum sputter and carbon coater designed for SEM sample preparation. Equipped with interchangeable heads, it sputters noble metals such as gold, palladium, platinum, and gold/palladium alloys, as well as oxidizing metals like tungsten and chromium. Additionally, it features thermal evaporation of carbon sources (fiber or rod) to coat non-conductive or poorly conductive specimens. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of electron microscopy and coating applications.
The DSCT high-vacuum SEM coater provides high-quality, uniform films with fine grain sizes, making it perfect for specimens requiring high-resolution imaging and characterization in applications like FE-SEM, EDS/WDS, TEM, and EBSD. The system includes a 2” magnetron cathode, an 80 W switching DC power supply, and a high-current power supply for carbon evaporation, offering flexibility for both research and thin film applications.
Pulsed Carbon Fiber
Evaporation
The desk vacuum carbon coater enables pulsed carbon fiber evaporation, delivering precise and controlled deposition. Short pulses minimize debris typically generated in traditional carbon deposition methods, ensuring cleaner and higher-quality coatings.
Carbon Rod
Evaporation (Optional)
The DSCT could be equipped with carbon rod evaporator head (optional). For this case an external 0-100 A high current power supply should be used instead of the internal high current power supply which is designed for carbon fiber evaporation.
Carbon Evaporation
of DSCT
Mini-size coating system model DSCT can carbon coat with fine grains to produce uniform thin films on different surfaces using carbon fiber or carbon rod (Optional).

DSCT High-Quality Vacuum Chamber
The DSCT is equipped with a cylindrical Pyrex vacuum chamber and an internally mounted 90 L/s turbo molecular pump, backed by a 6 m³/h two-stage rotary vane pump. This setup ensures the introduction of a clean vacuum, free from the oil contamination typically associated with diffusion pumps, making it ideal for high-precision applications.
Newly Designed Sample Holder
A new 4-inch rotating sample holder with an optional gear offset is designed for the system to increase the deposition area and the number of coating stubs in a run (Customizable for max. 50×1 mm stubs).
DSCT Touch Screen
DSCT, the desk SEM coater, is equipped with a 7” colored touch-screen panel and full automatic control using a user-friendly software to control and adjust the deposition process data. The vacuum and coating sequence information can be observed as digital data or curves on the touch screen. The last 300 coatings information is saved on the history page.
DSCT Sample Holder
The DSCT can be equipped with different sample stage configurations depending on the user requirements. The standard sample stage is rotatable with adjustable height and angle and can be changed easily. The rotary planetary sample stage is a good choice for uniform coating of porous specimens (Optional).
